Zgjidhni se si dëshironi të shihni përkthimin:

Fjalët negative nuk përkthehen në gjuhën amtare.

Gjatë leximit, poliglotët, përkthejnë në gjuhën amtare në mënyrë të pavetëdijshme. Kjo ndodh spontanisht dhe lexuesit nuk e venë re. Mund të thuhet se truri funksionon si një përkthyes simultan. Por, ai nuk i përkthen të gjitha! Një studim ka zbuluar se truri ka një filtër të integruar. Ky filtër vendos se çfarë do të përkthehet. Mesa duket filtri i injoron disa fjalë. Fjalët negative nuk përkthehen në gjuhën amtare. Studiuesit zgjodhën folës nativë të gjuhës kineze për eksperimentin e tyre. Të gjithë personat e testuar flisnin anglisht si gjuhë të dytë. Ata duhej të vlerësonin disa fjalë në anglisht. Fjalët kishin përmbajtje të ndryshme emocionale. Ishin terma pozitivë, negativë dhe asnjanës. Ndërkohë që personat lexonin fjalët, studiuesit ekzaminonin trurin e tyre. Pra, studiuesit matën aktivitetin elektrik të trurit. Kështu mund të shihnin sesi punon truri. Gjatë përkthimit të fjalëve gjenerohen sinjale të caktuara. Ato tregojnë se truri është aktiv. Për fjalët negative, personat e testuar nuk shfaqën asnjë aktivitet. Vetëm termat pozitivë ose ato asnjanës u përkthyen. Studiuesit ende nuk e dinë pse. Teorikisht truri duhet të përpunojë të gjitha fjalët njësoj. Mund të ndodhë që filtri kontrollon shkurtimisht çdo fjalë. Ajo analizohet në kohën që lexohet në gjuhën e dytë. Nëse një fjalë është negative, memoria bllokohet. Prandaj nuk mund të mendohet për të në gjuhën amtare. Njerëzit mund të jenë shumë të ndjeshëm ndaj fjalëve. Ndoshta truri kërkon t'i mbrojë nga tronditjet emocionale...
