The Nynorsk language
Nynorsk is a written language in Norway. It's one of the two official languages there. People in Norway speak Norwegian, but they write in either Nynorsk or Bokmål. Nynorsk is different from Bokmål. It has its own grammar and words. Nynorsk was created in the 19th century by a man named Ivar Aasen. Aasen wanted to make a written language that represented the way people spoke in rural Norway. So, Nynorsk has words and phrases that are different from standard Norwegian. Nynorsk is often used in schools and literature to preserve Norway's rural dialects. It's important for keeping the country's linguistic diversity alive. People in Norway can choose to write in Nynorsk or Bokmål in official documents. Learning Nynorsk can be a bit challenging if you're used to Bokmål. But it's a valuable part of Norwegian culture and history. Nynorsk is taught in schools alongside Bokmål. In daily life, many Norwegians use Bokmål, especially in urban areas. But Nynorsk remains an essential part of Norway's linguistic heritage.Learn Norwegian from your native language with our method “book2” (books in 2 languages)
